About Hudson Valley Foundation Repair
We repair foundations in the Hudson Valley and nowhere else. That focus matters—this region has specific soil, climate, and housing conditions that create specific foundation problems, and we've built our methods around them.
Who We Are
We are a Hudson Valley foundation repair company serving homeowners in Orange, Dutchess, and Ulster counties. Our work is limited to what this region needs: stabilizing foundations that have moved, correcting the drainage that caused the movement, and preventing it from happening again.
We're not a national franchise or a storm-chasing outfit. The crews who inspect your foundation are the same crews who repair it. The person who answers your call knows the difference between clay soil behavior in Middletown and black dirt behavior in Warwick. That regional knowledge is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that fails within a few seasons.

Foundation repair is not a commodity. The same crack can come from a settling footing, hydrostatic pressure, or a failed drainage system—and the correct fix depends on which. Our process is built around diagnosis first, repair second.
1. Diagnose the cause
We inspect the foundation, drainage, soil conditions, and visible damage. We measure wall deflection, check for efflorescence, evaluate grading, and identify where water is coming from and where it's going.
2. Recommend the least invasive method
Not every foundation problem requires piers. Some require drainage correction alone. Some require crack injection and nothing else. We recommend what solves the problem—not what generates the largest invoice.
3. Repair the structure, correct the water
Structural repair without water management is temporary. Every repair we do addresses both the structural damage and the underlying cause. That's what makes the repair last.
4. Document the work
You get photos of the repair, warranty documentation, and a clear record of what was done and why. That matters at resale, for insurance, and for your own peace of mind.
Why the Hudson Valley Specifically
The Hudson Valley has a set of conditions that stress home foundations more than many other regions. Clay-heavy soils expand and contract with moisture. Frost depth reaches 42 to 48 inches, meaning the ground freezes deep and stays frozen through winter. The spring slow thaw sends meltwater sideways into foundations instead of down into the soil. Heavy spring rains then push hydrostatic pressure against walls that were never designed for that volume.
Older housing stock makes it worse. Many homes in the region were built before modern waterproofing existed, with stone or unreinforced concrete foundations that have been absorbing moisture for decades. Different cities have different dominant problems:
- Middletown — clay soil, slow-thaw damage, mix of century-old and mid-century foundations
- Wallkill — limestone and shale geology, uneven drainage, older stone foundations in the hamlet
- Newburgh — high water tables, steep grades, historic masonry in the East End district
- New Windsor — Moodna Creek watershed, high water table, mobile home leveling in Vails Gate
- Warwick — black dirt region around Pine Island, older farmhouse foundations
- Monroe — expansive clay soil, 1800s foundations in the historic district
- Poughkeepsie — deep frost line, heavy spring rains, older homes near the waterfront
- Wappingers Falls — street creep from concrete expansion along Route 9 and Route 9D
We built our methods around these conditions. That's why we only work here.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We carry full liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage, and we pull all required municipal permits for foundation work. Documentation is available on request before work begins.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Yes. Most structural repairs—pier installation, carbon fiber reinforcement, wall anchors—carry a written warranty, typically 10 to 25 years depending on the method. Drainage and waterproofing work carries a shorter warranty. Terms are provided in writing before you sign.
How do you decide which repair method to recommend?
We start with the cause, not the symptom. A crack from soil pressure is different from a crack from water intrusion or a settling foundation, and each requires a different fix. We inspect the foundation, drainage, soil conditions, and home structure, then recommend the least invasive method that solves the underlying problem.
Do you subcontract any of the work?
No. All foundation repair, waterproofing, and drainage work is performed by our own trained crews. Permitted electrical work (sump pump circuits) is handled by a licensed electrician we work with directly.
